We suggest using your own vehicle to get around.  Traveling in the winter? 4 wheel drive and tire chains are strongly encouraged, and may be required by California Highway Patrol when there's snow in the forecast.  The main road (Rockledge) is plowed, but we still suggest bringing a snow shovel and preparing to walk through snow if you're coming during a snowstorm. Remember to keep an eye on your weather app to be prepared for all your mountain adventures. It is best to arrive during sunlight hours. Snow chains are required during and after winter storms.
